Imagery in Bastrop school mural stirs controversy →
…Bastrop resident Lauren Hansell, who made the original complaint, homeschools her children but visits the school on Fridays to pray with students at the flagpole.  … “When she showed it to me, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ ” said Hansell, who added that the mural presents a new age idea of peace and unity that could be confusing to Christian students… WHAT?

80's Spring Fling
So, last Friday was Ivy Tech’s “Spring Fling”… I didn’t really know what to expect from it, because the name sounds like it’d be a dance, but I knew there was a dinner being served, and I was thinking “a dance for a community college???”. But no, I didn’t bother to ask anyone. All I knew was that the theme was The 80’s and they asked...

Colorful new names for eight crayons →
When I was a kid, probably on the older side of being a kid, I loooove Crayola’s fun color names, but: ‘Gone is wild watermelon. Now it will be called awesome.’ is just stupid. I think there needs to be some connection to color.

SOCIOLOGY
I feel like I’m not getting much out of my Sociology class… So far: - The first week we spent lots of time on introductions, and watching part of a video on Nature vs. Nurture, which ended up not being discussed in the book until Chapter 5. - We “missed” the 2nd week because of Martin Luther King Day, which puts our class on a tad more complicated schedule for the year...
